Every Zen-O portable oxygen concentrator is supplied with a carry bag, an accessories bag, pull cart, battery, user manual, quick start guide, AC & DC power packs, and three regional cords (US, EU and UK). Replacement parts can be sourced using the relevant item numbers
Q: What is the maximum flow rate for the Zen-O portable oxygen concentrator?
Zen-O is designed to deliver up to 2 litres of oxygen per minute in either pulse or continuous mode. Even at its maximum flow Zen-O will maintain the specified oxygen purity levels of 87 – 96%.
Q: What does Zen-O weigh?
Zen-O weighs just 4.66kg (10.25lbs) with one battery in the device. An additional battery weighs 652 grams on its own.
Q: Is Zen-O suitable for air travel?
Zen-O has been manufactured to high standards and meets the requirements of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), this is confirmed by the red text on the back of the device that states “The manufacturer of this POC has determined this device conforms to all applicable FAA acceptance criteria for POC carriage and use on board aircraft”.
Q: Is Zen-O suitable for 24/7 use?
Yes, Zen-O from is robust and durable and is suitable for 24/7 use. Zen-O’s three year or 15,000 hours of total use device warranty gives home oxygen providers the assurance of quality. Users also benefit as the device can be used round the clock without the need to switch to an alternative oxygen delivery system when at home. Patients should seek guidance from their healthcare professional on the suitability of the device for night use.
Q: What is a Bolus?
Bolus means the amount or dose of oxygen delivered to a patient which is triggered by the breath rate of the patient, when using an oxygen concentrator operating in pulse mode. Bolus is used interchangeably with Pulse.
Q: What is Rate Responsive Technology?
When in pulse mode Zen-O increases the amount of oxygen delivered as the patient’s breath rate increases up to 2 litres per minute. For example if the patient exerts himself by walking faster than normal, Zen-O will maintain a constant bolus and keep up with the patient’s breath rate (up to 40 breaths per minute). RRT helps keep patients saturated.
Q: What settings do we have on Zen-O?
Zen-O has settings 1 – 6 (with 0.5 increments) in pulse mode, and 0.5 lpm to 2 lpm in continuous mode (0.5 increments). Zen-O offers a total of 11 pulse settings and 4 settings in continuous mode, a total of 15.
Q: Are the settings in Pulse and Continuous modes the same?
No, a setting in Pulse mode does not equate to the same value in Continuous mode. For example setting 2 in Pulse mode is not the same as 2lpm in continuous mode. Patients must have a setting determined for them by a healthcare professional following an assessment.
Q: How does a patient determine the correct setting on Zen-O?
The correct setting on Zen-O for a patient must be determined by a healthcare professional following an oxygen assessment. The assessment will enable the healthcare professionals determine the best setting required to meet the oxygen needs of the patient.
Q: Who is Zen-O designed for? Can anyone buy Zen-O?
Zen-O is designed for patients that require supplemental oxygen including those with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
In some countries, like in the United States, Zen-O can only be sold on the prescription of a clinician. This is to ensure that the device meets the oxygen requirements of the patient. In other cases Zen-O can be sold direct to the patient, but patients must seek the advice of healthcare professional before using the device.
Q: Can I buy have an external desktop charger?
Yes, external desktop battery chargers are available (suitable for Zen-O and Zen-O lite) and can be purchased using the following item numbers from an authorised GCE outlet;
